At OneBreath Freediving, our approach to teaching freediving is based on letting go, introspection, technique and fun.
We offer small group and/or one-to-one tuition to best suit each student’s individual abilities, personal goals and development.
our approach to teaching freediving is based on relaxation, introspection, technique and fun.
Since 2012, we’ve been sharing our passion for freediving with our students. We focus our teaching on values: safety; fun and enjoyment; mindfulness.
Freediving is 90% a mental sport, and the rest… It’s all in your head! That’s why we offer small group and/or one-to-one tuition to best suit each student’s individual abilities, personal goals and development. In this way, we offer more personal attention and patience to those who need it to overcome their physical and mental barriers.
Like relaxation, technique is important in freediving. So, in every course, you’ll learn about the physics, psychology and physiology of freediving.
We were the first freediving school in Martinique to offer freediving courses, and we’re the only ones to offer courses from beginner to instructor level, so that our experience can accompany you throughout your progression.
Apnea is an activity in which you dive using only the oxygen stored in the air in your lungs.
Freedivers learn to hold their breath much longer than the average diver. As a result, they can spend a long time enjoying the underwater environment without needing to breathe.
It was an unforgettable experience. Samir and Mathilde are very good teachers, good listeners and very observant. I made huge progress in a very short time. The supervision ratio is perfect for making progress. One instructor per student! Thank you so much!
Great fun! Everyone can progress at their own pace. I was impressed to see that with each exercise I improved and that it felt good. Now I want to take a training course. Visited in September
I've just done the Aida 2 with Samir and Mathilde. Their teaching methods are perfect and they know how to give the right advice, adapt to each person's pace of progress and are really attentive to their students' safety. Go with your eyes closed. Visited in May
Our courses and training always take place in a safe, relaxed and fun environment. In each course, you’ll learn about the physics, psychology and physiology of freediving.
I discovered freediving in Dahab (Egypt) during a trip around the world in 2002. At the time, I’d never heard of the sport, so I wanted to explore the reef simply, without scuba diving equipment.
I then continued my journey by working as a scuba diving instructor for several years in some of the most beautiful places on the planet. This is how I discovered my passion for teaching.
Being asthmatic, I thought at the time that freediving wasn’t for me. Back in Paris, I took up apnea training. I discovered the therapeutic virtues of apnea: my asthma disappeared, my anxiety diminished. I wanted to learn more, so I decided to return to Dahab, the Mecca of apnea. There, I rubbed shoulders with the best freedivers on the planet (Natalia and Alexey Molchanov, Miguel Lozano, and above all my mentor William Winram, multiple world champion in variable weight) and learned an enormous amount from them.
Drawing inspiration from their training techniques, I was able to develop my skills and pedagogy to become one of only four AIDA instructor trainers in France, and the only one in the French West Indies.
I’m also a judge, athlete and first-aid instructor.
The ocean is a fascinating playground where we have to put aside our appearances to really be ourselves. I’m keen to pass on this passion to you through a caring, progressive and innovative approach that has proved its worth. Whether you’re a beginner or a competitor, at ease in the water or aquaphobic, I’ll help you boost your performance and break down your physical and mental barriers.
